Here's everything you need to know about the prince's very famous family

How old is Prince William?

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, was born on 21 June 1982, at St Mary's Hospital in London.

This makes the prince, second in line to the British throne, 35 years old.

When he was a teenager, Wills started studying at St Andrews University in Scotland, before joining the RAF and training as a helicopter pilot.

He went on to work as a search and rescue pilot in from 2009 to 2013, when his service with the Armed Forces came to an end.

When did Prince William marry Kate Middleton?

The royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton took place on April 29, 2011, and was declared a public holiday in the UK.

Since William isn't the first in line to the throne, the wedding was not a full state occasion, which meant many details of the big day were left down to the happy couple.

But the occasion, watched live by 36 million people, was jam packed with all the usual pomp and ceremony of a royal occasion regardless.

The wedding came a decade after the pair met, with Wills and Kate having first crossed paths back at uni in 2001.

Both students at St Andrews, the royal couple got on like a house on fire during their student days, and coupled up in 2003.

The engagement came seven years later in October 2010, sparking mass excitement all over the world at the prospect of a royal wedding.

How old are Prince George and Princess Charlotte?

Wills and Kate announced in December 2012 that they were expecting their first child together.

On 22 July 2013, Kate was admitted to St Mary's Hospital, where William himself was born, and emerged with a son - Prince George.

In September 2014, the royal couple announced that Kate was pregnant again, which resulted in the birth of Princess Charlotte at the same hospital on 2 May 2015.

It seems like we welcomed the royal babies into the world only yesterday, but Prince George is four already and Princess Charlotte is two.

On September 4 it was announced that Kate and William are expecting their third child. A specific due date for the royal birth is not yet known but if Kate was around three months pregnant at the time of the announcement we should expect the new arrival around March 2018.

Prince George turned four on July 22, with the occasion marked by the release of a royal photo of the beaming prince
